These beautiful crosses are made from repurposed whiskey barrel staves. The wood from these barrels provides gorgeous wood grain and makes for a beautiful, finished product. Once the stave pieces are cut and sanded, they get a dark walnut stain applied. We then finish the pieces with multiple coats of matte polyurethane. The backs of the crosses are clear coated to keep the char character but minimize the mess it leaves. The two individual staves are affixed with heavy duty screws and then twine is tied around the small, medium and large crosses to add the perfect finishing touch. Large crosses with hoops have small hoop pieces from the barrel added for accents on the cross. We also place a hanger on the back for easy hanging on your wall.
